Pinto-Gonçalves Nuno 017 | I have been collecting complete matchboxes since mid-sixties, when I received a small matchbox collection from my father, which I grew slowly until the beginning of the eighties. I pick it again in 2018, upon retirement, being now one of my favourite hobbies.
My collection includes a theme on “Aviation”, which includes plenty of airplanes, along with airline ads, airline suppliers and other companies and businesses in the “Aviation” economic sector.
For Philonex 2024 I’m bringing some of the better-known commercial airplanes.
Usually, airplanes are distinguished by its body line, like 747 and Airbus, and some specifically by its tail, as is the case for Super Constellation, 707, DC10 or Concorde. My presentation focuses these examples, with the following order: 1. Lockheed Super Constellation - produced from 1951 to 1958 2. Boeing 707 - produced from 1956 to 1978 3. Douglas DC9 - produced from 1965 to 1982 4. McDonnel-Douglas DC10 - produced from 1969 to 1989 5. Boeing 747 - produced from 1969 to 2022. First flight with PANAM in January, 22th, 1970 6. Airbus A300 - produced from 1971 to 2007 7. Concorde – produced from1965 to 1978. First commercial flight in 1976 The presentation also include: 8. LOT – Polish airline – Airplanes flew by the company 9. Diverse commercial airplanes 10. WWII airplanes – Portuguese series from Fosforeira Portuguesa I’m looking forward to see in Philonex 2024 plenty of airplane’s items I have never seen. Thanks to the organization for this event. |
